CHES, Bhubaneswar, participated in exhibition organised during Inauguration of ICAR-International Centre for Foot and Mouth Diseases in Bhubaneswar.
Central Horticultural Experiment Station (ICAR-IIHR), Bhubaneswar participated in the Exhibition programme organised on the sidelines of the inauguration of the International Centre for Foot and Mouth Disease (ICFMD) at Argul in Khurda district near the capital city on the occasion of Odisha's foundation day on April 1. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Union Agriculture minister Radhamohan Singh. The exhibits depicting ongoing research activities of the Station and technologies pertaining to the fruit and vegetable cultivation were displayed in the stall. Live samples and planting material of various fruit and vegetable varieties were also displayed for the benefit of the farmers. The special attraction of the exhibition was the extra early maturing variety Arka Neelachal Kesari displayed along with unripe fruits of other mango varieties. The farmers and the visitors were also curious about the Ivy gourd varieties (Arka Neelachal Kunkhi and Arka Neelachal Sabuja) with contrasting features. Various crop specific plant growth promoting formulations, processed dehydrated fruits, ready to cook products, developed by ICAR-IIHR were also exhibited in the Stall. Hundreds of farmers and officials visited the stall and observed the exhibits. Dr. G.C. Acharya, Principal Scientist and Dr. P Srinivas, Senior Scientist coordinated the exhibition along with Technical Assistant Sri. P C. Majhi and skilled supporting Staff Sri. H. Bindhyani.
