Division of Plant Physiology & Biochemistry
Specialisation:
Agrl. Chemistry
Qualification:
Ph.D
Experience (No. of Years):
23 years
Research Accomplishments:

∙ Determined the persistence pattern and environmental fate of pesticides residues in large number of vegetables and fruits for determination of waiting period. ∙ Compared the persistence pattern of pesticides in vegetables grown in open field to that grown in polyhouse environment. ∙ Data generated for registration of new pesticides as well as for deemed registered pesticides for MRL fixation. ∙ A method for analysis of carbendazim residues by HPLC was standardized and the same has been accepted by BIS, as its national standard protocol. Residue analytical protocols have also been standardized for different pesticide analysis by GLC, HPLC, GC-MS. ∙ Studied the mobility, persistence of pesticides in soil. ∙ Evaluated of suitability of post harvest pesticide treatments, pesticide treatments in IPM and IDM programmes leading to development of pesticide residue free IPM and IDM packages. development by residue analytical methods. ∙ Developed Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assays for analysis of pesticide residues In horticultural produce. ∙ Evaluated the uptake of paclobutrazol residues in Alphonso mango in Konkan region of Maharashtra.
