ICAR-IIHR CONDUCTS ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING ON MUSHROOM SPAWN PRODUCTION AND MUSHROOM CULTIVATION FROM 14-22 Sept 2017.
An entrepreneurial training program on Mushroom spawn production and Mushroom cultivation was organized by Mushroom Lab, Plant Pathology Division from 14th-16th Sept 2017 and 18th -22nd Sept 2017. A total of 33 people from the states of Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, attended the training. The group included 6 women entrepreneurs. There was a great diversity among the trainees with regards to educational qualification which ranged from matriculation to Masters degree and the profession ranged from agriculturists, businessman, software engineers, engineers, bankers, agriculture officers, students, mushroom cultivators and housewives. Ten participants were engineers. The group was given advance end to end Hands on training on various aspects of Mushroom spawn production, Mushroom cultivation, Mushroom processing and value addition, Mechanization and energy management in mushroom farms, ancillary activities associated with mushroom industry and utilization of mushroom technology as a social enterprise.
