"86th ICAR Foundation Day” organized at Central Horticultural Experiment Station (CHES), Bhubaneswar
ICAR Foundation Day was celebrated with fervor and gaiety on 16th July, 2014 at Central Horticultural Experiment Station (CHES), Bhubaneswar. The programme was presided over by the Head of the Station Dr H S Singh, while Dr E Aravezhi, Deputy Director, Coconut Development Board, Bhubaneswar was the chief guest. On this occasion Shri B Mohapatra, AFAO, reflected upon the motto of ICAR and the progress it has made during past 85 years while increasing the food production several times and making the nation self sufficient. He called upon all the employees to contribute towards the development of institution in all possible ways. Chief guest Dr E Aravezhi expressed his views on the development of horticulture in the Eastern region and the contribution of CHES and IIHR to the cause of farmers of the region. Dr H S Singh, enlightened the audience regarding the structure, hierarchy achievements and vision of ICAR, and the responsibilities of the Station in the development of horticulture in the region. He called upon the employees to feel proud to be the part of the biggest agriculture research organization of the world. He narrated his experiences at recent ICAR meeting where the contribution and progress of the station was highly appreciated and recognized by the distinguished officials of ICAR. Dr P Srinivas presented the vote of the thanks and co-ordinated the proceedings of the programme.
