ECO FRIENDLY – ARECA LEAF PLATE MAKING TRAINING PROGRAMME AT ICAR-KVK, HIREHALLI
Entrepreneurship Skill oriented training program on Eco-Friendly – Areca Leaf Plate Making was organized on 3rd June 2017 by ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hirehalli, Tumakuru, in collaboration with Uttam Grama Seva Trust, Chennai. The trainees included 32 farm women and 23 farmers. There was a great diversity among the trainees with regards to educational qualification, ranged from matriculation to degree and the profession ranged from agriculturists, students, arecanut growers and housewives. The programme provided advance end to end training on various aspects of areca plate making and value addition for areca waste and marketing.
Dr.N. Loganandhan, Senior Scientist and Head, Sri Shankar, Regional Manager, Kaveri Grameena Bank, Tumakuru, Sri Lalith Uttam Grama Seva Trust, Chennai were present during the inauguration. Dr. N. Loganandhan, in his inaugural address urged the farmers to adopt new agricultural technologies for improving the productivity and doubling family income and Sri Shankar invited farmers to bank to avail facilities available for entrepreneurship.
A total of 55 farmers from Tumakuru district attended the training and got benefitted. This programme was coordinated by Dr.Loganandhan, Senior Scientist and Head, Sri K.N.Jagadish ACTO/SMS Agril. Extension, ICAR KVK Hirehalli,Tumakuru.
