Central Horticultural Experiment Station, ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bhubaneswar is continuously carrying out exposure visits for the benefits of farmers, unemployed youth, government officials, NGO personnel, entrepreneurs and students etc. The exposure visits aimed at imparting knowledge on advances of horticultural technologies for optimum production and yield. The technologies include varieties, and the production, protection and post-harvest technologies released by ICAR-IIHR and its regional stations. During the visits, the doubts and queries related to horticulture were solved by the scientists and technical personals were allotted for the visit. They were taken to various fields for demonstrating different technologies available at the centre, so that the technologies can be adopted and disseminated by the farmers.
During the period from April to September 2019, the centre has conducted and co-ordinated 36 exposure visits benefiting 1245 beneficiaries. This covers 15 districts of Odisha and one inter-state exposure visit from Andhra Pradesh. The exposure visits were co-ordinated by I/c Exposure visits, and attended by scientists, technical and supporting staffs of the centre. Nodal Officer, ToT and Head I/C supervised the programmes.
