ICAR-IIHR CONDUCTS ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING ON MUSHROOM SPAWN PRODUCTION AND MUSHROOM CULTIVATION FROM 03-11 Jan 2019.
An entrepreneurial training program on Mushroom spawn production and Mushroom cultivation was organized by Mushroom Lab, Plant Pathology Division from 03rd -05th Jan 2019 and 07th -11th Jan 2019. A total of 30 people from the states of Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Telangana, Haryana, Maharashtra and Rajasthan attended the training. The group included 4 women entrepreneurs. There was a great diversity among the trainees with regards to educational qualification which ranged from intermediate (3), graduates (18), post graduates (9). The profession ranged from agriculturists (1), businessman (7), software engineers (15), medical doctor (1), engineers (5) and housewife (1). The group was given advance end to end Hands on training on various aspects of Mushroom spawn production, Mushroom cultivation, Mushroom processing and value addition, Mechanization and energy management in mushroom farms, ancillary activities associated with mushroom industry and utilization of mushroom technology as a social enterprise.
