The training was conducted from 17th July 2018 at KVK Yadagiri and on 16-18th Aug 2018 at KVK Raichur. At KVK Raichur, Dr. Meera Pandey, Principal Scientist, Mushroom Research lab, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru conducted the training as resource person for Mushroom spawn production, Mushroom cultivation and development of Mushroom value added products. Dr. Chandrashekara C., Scientist, Mushroom Research lab, ICAR-IIHR conducted the one day training at KVK, Yadagiri.  The training at KVK Raichur was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor Sri Guthi Jambunath. The training was attended by 32 farmers and 20 students undergoing skill development training at the University. This training program was an eye opener for many who did not have any knowledge about mushrooms either about its cultivation or consumption.  The value added products like Mushroom fortified Arka rasam powder and 7 variants of Mushroom fortified chutney powders  was greatly appreciated as these are the items which people use in their daily diet in that area. Addition of mushrooms to such products was a novelty for the trainees who understood the ways of enhancing the nutrition of their daily diet products through such value addition. They were also able to learn the technique of mushroom dehydration which would help them to prevent the post harvest looses during unfavorable marketing periods.  Due to the demand from the growers and the potential of the mushroom technology in Raichur district, the Honorable Vice Chancellor, UAS, Raichur has agreed to initiate the process of the setting up mechanized mushroom spawn production unit and ready to fruit bag production unit in the premises of ICAR-KVK, UAS, and Raichur.
