A special training programme was organized on “Mushroom Production Technology” from 22nd to 23rdMarch 2019 and “Nursery Management in Horticultural crops” from 25th to 26th March 2019 for the farmers of Bidar, Chikbellapur, Dharwad and Udupi at ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (ICAR-IIHR). The objective of the programme was to impart training on entrepreneurship development in mushroom cultivation and nursery management in Horticultural crops Under Bhoo samrudhi Project.
Totally 27 Participants representing four districts of Karnataka participated in the programme. The participants were imparted hands on training on mushroom cultivation aspects including spawn production and mechanization in mushroom cultivation, processing and product development. For the trainees of Nursery management, hands on training on budding. Grafting and air-layering aspects in fruit crops, ornamental crops and portray method of nursery raising were imported. Lecture-cum-discussion, trainers-trainees interface, visit to demonstration plots and field visit to nurseries, were the modes employed to impart training to the participants.
All the participants had Hands on training in mushroom production technology and Propagation techniques in Horticultural crops. During valedictory Dr.P.C.Tripathi welcomed the gathering followed by Chairman’s remarks from Dr.M.R.Dinesh, Director, ICAR-IIHR, who also distributed the certificated to the participants.
The trainees were very much satisfied with the programme and opined that have learnt many new scientific management practices to implement in real farm situation. They wish to take up musroom production technologies and nursery management in fruits and vegetables of IIHR varities in their districts. Dr R.Senthil kumar, Dr.C.Chandrasekar, Dr.H.P.Sumangala and Dr P.c.Tripathi coordinated this Traineig programme.
