Research Accomplishments: 

(During the Period of 2019-2023) 

  1. Collection and conservation of more than 250 curry leaf germplasm in field gene bank.
  2. Development of DUS testing guidelines for Dolichos bean and notified by PPV & FRA.                                                               
  3. Charecterization curry leaf germplasm for essential oil yield and composition and mineral nutrients contents.
  4. Charecterization onion germplasm for Anthracnose-twister complex and identification of tolarent sources.
  5. Nomination of pole type photo-insensitive dolichos bean varieties for state varietal trials and after 3 years of testing, identify them for release to state of Karnataka in SVEC meeting.
Varieties / Technologies Developed: 

 

  1. Developed and notified 8 varieties in wheat namely, VL Gehun 953, VL Gehun 967, VL Gehun 3004, VL Gehun 2014, VL Gehun 2015, VL Gehun 2028, VL Gehun 3010, VL Gehun 2041 and released for Northern Hills zone of India. 
  2. Developed and notified 1 variety Barley VLB 130 and released for Northern Hills zone of India.
  3. Developed a pole type rust resistant French bean variety Arka Sukomal suitable for vegetable purposes.
  4. Developed high yielding photo insensitive pole type Dolichos varieties for vegetable purposes namely, Arka Krishna, Arka Vistar, Arka Pradhan suitable for Southern Indian states.
  5. Developed high yielding and protein rich pole type Dolichos varieties for vegetable purposes namely, Arka Arka Neelachal Pushti suitable for Odisha state.                                                                                                                         
  6. Developed a genetic stock with novel source of leaf rust resistant gene in wheat namely wheat ER9-700 (INGR21018) and registered with ICAR-NBPGR.
