An Exposure visit to ICAR-IIHR CHES, Chettalli, IIHR-KVK Gonikoppal and ICAR-JSS-KVK Mysore was arranged for MANAGE sponsored trainees under “Certified farm advisors on fruit crop technologies training” being organized by ICAR-IIHR from December 11-13, 2021.The objective of the programme was to transform extension professionals as Certified Farm Advisors through training on improved fruit crop production technologies. A total of 27 officials/entrepreneurs representing 8 different states (Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu and Bihar) are participating in this programme. On 11.12.2021, an exposure visit was arranged to JSS-KVK, Suttur, Mysore district. Dr. G.M. Vinay, Scientist (Horticulture) delivered lecture on JSS – KVK activities and also IIHR farmers friendly fruit technologies which are suitable for Mysore district. At the end of the lecture, Orchard visit (sapota, mango and guava), vermicompost, diary, bio pesticides and bakery units was made. On 12.12.2021, visit was made to CHES, Chettalli, Kodagu district. Dr.S.Rajendran and Mr.B.M.Muralidhara, Scientists of CHES, Chettalli explained about CHES activities and fruit crops research activities and technologies. Then, orchard visit (Rambutan, Garcinia, guava, jamun, avocado, cashew, underutilized fruits, Citrus and Karonda) was arranged. On third day (13.12.2021) visit was made to ICAR-IIHR-KVK, Gonikoppal, Kodagu district. Mr.K.A.Deviah, Scientist (Hort) delivered lecture on IIHR fruit crops technologies and impact of IIHR- AMC and  IIHR speciality micro nutrients for citrus, vegetables and mango. He also explained about Puthari Farmer Producer Company Limited (FPO) supported by IIHR -KVK Gonikoppal and NABARD, Madikeri. The participants expressed their satisfaction on exposure visit to these places and learned many location specific practical problems in various fruits crops technologies and solutions suggested by the various experts. This visit was coordinated by Dr V Sankar, Principal Scientist, Division of Social Science and Training, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru.
