Training programme on Mushroom Cultivation was conducted on 22nd March 2022 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra,Hirehalli, Tumakuru. This training programme was organized in collaboration with BESST-HORT, ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan-2021-22. In the inaugural session, Dr, Loganadhan .N, Principal Scientist and Head, ICAR-KVK, welcomed the guests and participants. Dr G.Sentilkumaran, Principal Scientist, Department of Post Harvest Technology and Agricultural Engineering, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru explained about the SCSP programme. Later Mr Ramesh P.R, SMS-Soil Science delivered lecture on spawn production techniques. Mrs.Radha R.Banakar SMS- Home Science gave a lecture on nutritional importance of different kinds of mushrooms along with mushroom cultivation techniques. Later Trainees were demonstrated mushroom bag filling and bag incubation methods for preparation of Oyser mushroom RTF bag preparation. At the end, training manuals were distributed to all the participants. This training programme was attended by 50 SC farmers and farm women from Pavagada, Madugiri and Koratagere taluks of Tumakuru district.
