ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru organized the inaugural function of Hindi fortnight on 14 September 2022. Dr. Anil Kumar Nair, Principal Scientist welcomed and introduced the chief guest Shri Ishwar Chandra Mishra, Retired Joint Director, Central Translation Bureau, Bengaluru. Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha, Principal Scientist, conveyed the message of Hon'ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and also detailed various competitions and activities to be organized during Hindi fortnight. Dr. P.C. Tripathi, Principal Scientist presented the appeal of Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary, DARE & Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, about the official language.
During his address, the chief guest Shri Ishwar Chandra Mishra urged the staff to use Hindi in their day-to-day work, and described the correct usage and minor differences between certain words. Dr. Debi Sharma, Director of the institute presided over the program and remarked that the Institute is meeting the targets related to the implementation of Official Language. The program ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. K.K. Upreti, Principal Scientist.
