National Horticultural Fair 2019 Kick-started at Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR)
The three-day mega event 'National Horticultural Fair 2019' at ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) kick-started on January 23, 2019.
ICAR-IIHR is organizing National Horticultural Fair 2019 during January 23-25, 2019. The purpose of the fair is to showcase the technologies developed by the institute to the farmers and other stakeholders. More than 100 varieties of 60 crops are being demonstrated through live demonstrations for the benefit of the farmers. Exhibition of about 140 stalls of Agricultural Universities, ICAR institutes, private industry and nursery units are the source of knowledge sharing and trade between farmers and industry representatives. An exclusive consultancy cell has been established for clearing the doubts of the farmers by the technology developers.
Dr A. K. Singh, Deputy Director General (Horticultural Sciences), ICAR, New Delhi informed that the fair aims at disseminating the latest technologies of ICAR-IIHR and farmers from various states of the country are going to be benefitted. Dr MR Dinesh, Director, ICAR-IIHR informed that ICAR-IIHR is committed towards technology transfer of viable technologies to the stakeholders, especially farmers and hence, the fair is being organized. The first day of the event was witnessed by more than 6000 farmers representing 10 states of the country.
