Six days training on “Production technology of vegetable crops” during 17-22nd February, 2014
A Six days training programme sponsored by Orissa Tribal Empowerment & Livelihood Programme (OTELP) on “Production technology of vegetable crops” has been organised by CHES, Bhubaneswar during 17-22nd February, 2014. The training was inaugurated by Chief guest Honour Dr. K Pradhan, Ex-VC of OUAT & RAU in the presence of Dr H S Singh, Head & Course Director. The Agriculture Officers and Expert-livelihoods from OTELP, Bhubaneswar participated in the programme. The training included lectures, practical sessions and field visits conducted by resource personnel from ICAR institutes and OUAT, Bhubaneswar. The participants were trained in a range of aspects like sustainable livelihood through vegetable crops, quality vegetable seedling production layout, multiplication and maintenance of quality planting material for perennial cucurbits, soil & land preparation, nutrient management, water management, drip irrigation, varietal status and production technology, pest and disease management etc. for management of vegetable crops fields. During the valedictory session, Head of the Station Dr. H S Singh interacted with the participants and distributed the certificates. The trainees in their expressed satisfaction on the conduct and content of the training. Dr. L K Bharathi, Senior Scientist and Dr. G Sangeetha, Senior Scientist respectively, acted as Coordinator and Co-coordinator of the training programme.
