TRAINING AND AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON PPV & FR ACT 2001 AT CHES,CHETTALLI, KODAGU
One day Awareness Cum Training Programme will be organized on “Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Act 2001 On Horticultural Crops” on 27th February, 2013 from 10 AM to 4 PM at Central Horticultural Experimental Station (CHES), Chettalli, Kodagu. This meeting has been organized to create awareness among the planters of Kodagu regarding the following aspects:-
- Implementation of PPV & FR Act 2001
- DUS testing procedures in spice and Plantation crops
- Role of women in conservation of plant diversity
- Farmers Rights and Farmers varieties
- Experiences and expectations from Fruit & Flower growers
Dr. P.C. Tripathi, Head, CHES, Chettall will welcome the gathering followed by briefing about PPV & FRA by Dr. A.T. Sadashiva, Principal Scientist & Head, Division of Vegetable Crops, IIHR, Bangalore. Dr. A.S. Sidhu, Director, IIHR, Bangalore will inaugurate the programme. Shri. Bose Mandanna, Ex-vice president (Coffee Board) and Director, Karnataka Coffee Brokers Pvt. Ltd. will be the chief guest.
Shree Padre, Executive Editor, Adike Patrike, Dr. T.S. Aghora, Principal Scientist, IIHR, Dr. S.J. Anke Gowda, I/C, IISR, Appangala, Dr. Anand, PS, CPCRI, Vittala, Dr. Cheryl D Nath, Researcher, Tropical Forestry & Biodiversity, Puducherry, Shri.
