Training programme of DST Funded WORKSHOP on “Current trends in rapid diagnosis and management of emerging diseases and insect pests in horticultural crops”

The DST Government of India funded Workshop on “Current trends in rapid diagnosis and management of emerging diseases and insect pests in horticultural crops” was conducted from 11.07.2022 to 23.07.2022 at ICAR-IIHR. Bangalore.

The 13 days Workshop was started on 11.07.2022 with the 24 participants (Exclusively PG and PhD scholars) from different states of India. The program consisted lectures from IIHR resource persons, hands-on–trainings, inter-disciplinary laboratory visits, Inter-Institutional exposure visits to GKVK, UAS, Bangalore and exposure visit to seed industry (Indo-American Seeds Pvt Ltd, Bangalore) and online lectures on diagnosis and management of nationally important quarantine pests and diseases in India and Small molecules and gene editing for crop protection

The valedictory function of the training programme was held on 23.07.2022. Dr. Debi Sharma, Director ICAR-IIHR, Bangalore, chaired the programe and she congratulated the participants for successful completion of the workshop. The proramme was coordinated by Dr. B. Mahesha, Scientist, Division of Crop Protection.
