ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gonikoppal,Kodagu in collaboration with the Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) conducted two vocational skill training programme of 25 days duration on a) Mushroom grower and b) Nursery worker from Jan 7th to Feb 7th 2019. The valedictory function was held on 30th April 2019. A total of Thirty six trainees (18 in each programme) had registered for the programme. Out of this thirty one participants had cleared the assessment conducted by ASCI. The valedictory session and distribution of certificates was held on 30th April, 2019.
Smt. Geeta Chengappa, Chief officer, Cheshire Home India Coorg, Pollibetta, Kodagu was the Chief Guest on the occasion and distributed the certificates to the successful candidates. Dr. Saju George, spoke about the importance of the programme organised by ASCI. The trainees spoke about the experience during the training and the initiatives started by them post completion of the training programme. Many of the trainees have started producing Mushroom and carrying out nursery activities.
Mr. Prabhakar (Trainer: Nursery worker) and Dr. Somshekar (Trainer: Mushroom grower) carried out the entire training programme successfully with theory, practical, field visit and exposure visits to relevant units.
