As part of the Swacchatha Pakhwada programme of ICAR-IIHR, a method demonstration programme was organized at farm of Mr Sashi, a progressive farmer of Shivakotte Village, Bengaluru North on 18.12.2020 at 1.00 PM. This programme was organized by MGMG team consisting of Dr R Venkattakumar, Dr R Venugopalan, Dr Sridhar Gutam, Dr Padmini Kutty and Dr Smranika Mishra. Scientists from Division of Social Sciences and farmers of Shivakotte village participated in the demonstration. Dr R Venkattakumar extended a warm welcome to the participants. Dr P. Nandeesha, Nodal Officer, Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan gave a brief about the programme. Dr D Kalaivanan, Scientist, Division of NRM demonstrated the preparation of compost from farm waste using Arka Microbial decomposer for faster degradation of lignin containing farm waste. The farmers were impressed by the technology and opined that they will adopt the technology at their farms and further communicate it to the fellow farmers in the village.
