Capacity building programme on ICAR-IIHR Technologies under RKVY project was organized at Central Horticultural Experiment Station (ICAR-IIHR), Chettalli on 7th September, 2022. The main aim of programme is to disseminate IIHR technologies to the farmers of Kodagu. Dr. S. Rajendiran, Scientist and Head-In-Charge, CHES, Chettalli welcomed the farmers, scientists and staff members of CHES, Chettalli. Dr. R. Venkattakumar, Principal Scientist & Head, Division of Social Science and Training, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru explained the objectives of the RKVY project and the benefits available for the farmers. The chief guest Mr. Bose Mandanna, Ex-Vice Chairman, Coffee Board suggested farmers to utilize the benefits in good manner. Dr. R. Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIHR, explained different technologies available in fruit and spice crops at ICAR-IIHR which are suitable for Kodagu region particularly Arka Microbial Consortium (AMC), Black pepper var. Arka Coorg Excel and Avocado var. Arka Supreme. Dr. V. Shankar, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIHR, explained the different varieties and technologies of vegetable crops suitable for Kodagu Region. The inputs like AMC, Arka Vegetable Special, Vegetable Seed Kit and pepper plants were distributed to the farmers. More than 60 farmers from Ponnampete, Madikeri, Somvarpete and Virajpete participated and benefitted from the programme. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Dr. A.T.
