Capacity building program through novel technologies of ICAR-IIHR for farmers of Chamarajanagar District” was organized as part of SCSP program on 02.09.2024 at ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru in collaboration with Karnataka State Department of Agriculture, Chamarajanagar District.
Dr.Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru inaugurated the program and addressed the farmers of Hanur, Gundlupet and Kollegal Taluks of Chamarajanagar District. He mentioned about the message of Prime Minister of India and about achieving ‘Nutritional Security’ through production and consumption of fruits and vegetables besides cereal crops alone. He emphasized about adopting ICAR-IIHR technologies through concerned scientific experts. Dr.B.Balakrishna, Nodal Officer, SCSP program briefed about objectives of the program.
The training program covered different aspects like Mushroom cultivation, Dry land horticulture, Production of future fruit crops and Soil testing method for precision fertilizer application. A field visit was also arranged for the farmers. The training program was organized and Co-ordinated by Dr.Mahesha, B., Scientist (Plant Pathology).
