The KVK, Wayanad in collaboration with ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru and Center for Management Development organized a training programme cum input-distribution for the tribal farmers of Aambalavayal, Sulthan Bathery block in Wayanad District of Kerala on 4th November 2023. The event was inaugurated by Ambalavayal Grama Panchayath President Smt. C.K. Hafsath and Dr. N.E. Safia, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, Wayanad presided over. Smt. Ashitha M.R., Assistant Professor, KVK Wayanad, welcomed the gathering. Scientists from ICAR-IIHR, Dr.G. Selvakumar and Dr. D. Kalaivanan, explained about soil health management and vegetable cultivation and provided information on latest technologies and new varieties of ICAR-IIHR. The Center for Management Development Project Manager, Smt. Anu Alphonse Varghese felicitated the gathering. Dr. Arularasan G.S. Assistant Professor, KVK Wayanad, offered vote of thanks. At the end of the training programme, the seeds of various vegetable crops, Arka Microbial Consortium, and Arka vegetable special were distributed to tribal farmers. About 109 tribal farmers from Nellarachal, Wayanad participated and benefited from the programme.
