Research:

  1. Modelling dynamics of institutional credit to agriculture in India (PI)
  2. Prospects of Irrigation in India: Trends, Determinants, and Impact on Agricultural Productivity (Co-PI)
  3. Crop diversification: Pattern, determinants and its implications on nutritional security (Co-PI)
  4. Forecasting onion prices using deep learning techniques (Co-PI)

Teaching:

Offered various courses for Masters and Phd students of Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extention and Agricultural Statistics of ICAR-IARI PG school in each semester/trimester during 2017-23
Training:

  1. Course coordinator for 21 days CAFT training on "Statistical and Machine Learning Techniques for Modeling and Forecasting Agricultural Data”.
  2. Delivered many invited lectures under different trainings of ICAR institutes, SAUs and Private universities
Varieties / Technologies Developed: 

 

  1. Identification of structural breaks in the agricultural credit series and evolution of criteria for ranking of different phases of growth in the agricultural credit under garret ranking framework
  2. Tailored panel regression model for quantification of major drivers of institutional credit to agriculture and drivers of groundwater exploitation in India
  3. Developed methodology/ standard procedure for estimation of demand for direct agricultural credit by districts
  4. Developed a unique methodology for classification of districts into Groundwater safe and unsafe districts in India.
  5. Methodology for estimation of the crop diversification index by employing the Simpson index of diversification in the crop sector.
  6. Developed malnutrition index to assess the district wise nutritional status
  7. Mapping and classification of districts based on exposure to agricultural credit, groundwater safety and nutritional status
  8. Developed simulation model to decipher the conditional distribution of undernutrition index based on the conditional value of diversification index
  9. Innovative modelling to assess the impact of crop diversification on the nutritional status
  10. Constructed perceived effectiveness index to measure effectiveness of trainings conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research
