ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru arranged to live telecast the Prime Minister Kissan Samman Sammelan programme on 17.10.2022, which was presided over by Shri. B.N. Bache Gowda, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Chikkaballapur Constituency of Karnataka. Dr. Debi Sharma, Director extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Shri. B.N. Bache Gowda in his speech highlighted the achievements of the institute and suggested that ICAR-IIHR need to be focused to address farmers’ problems. There was a live telecast of speech of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, during which he highlighted the promotion of startups in agriculture and also highlighted the schemes of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. Dr. R. Venkattakumar, Head (I/c), Division of Social Sciences and Training, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru proposed a formal vote of thanks which was attended by more than 325 farmers from Chikkaballapura and Bengaluru districts of Karnataka and Krishnagiri and Tanjore districts Tamil Nadu states.
