Research Accomplishments: 

(During the Period of 2019-2023) 

  1. Studied the biochemical basis of rust (Uromyces phaseoli Reben Wint.) resistance in French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)
  2. Developed and published nutritional composition data on dragon fruit species H. undatus (fruits with white pulp and pink skin), and H. polyrhizus (fruits with red pulp and pink skin)
  3. Associated in the quality analysis of dragon fruit grown under different training system as well as open filed and poly house condition.
  4. Associated in the development and release of two marigold varieties Arka Shubha and Arka Vibha which are rich in carotenoid content.
  5. Antioxidant potential and alpha glucosidase inhibitory activity of jamun seeds were studied
  6. Studied the nutritional composition of different jackfruit species
  7. Associated in the quality analysis of seedless jamun and round the year selection.
Varieties / Technologies Developed: 

 

  1. Associated in the development and release of two marigold varieties rich in carotenoids: i. Arka Shubha (characters: Spreading plant habit, orange colour flowers (RHS Orange group N25 C), only ligulate florets in flower head, high yield, high carotenoid content and good shelf life), and ii. Arka Vibha (Characters: Semi erect plant habit, Compact flowers of orange colour (RHS Orange group N25 C), Only ligulate florets in flower head, High yield, compact flower and good shelf life).
  2. Associated in the identification and release of unique jackfruit variety (Shree Halasu) with coppery red and firm flakes farmers field.
