An awareness-cum-demonstration programme on Arka Microbial Consortium was organized by Central Horticultural experiment Station (ICAR-IIHR), Bhubaneswar on 14th December, 2023 to discuss the beneficial effect on using Arka Microbial Consortium (AMC) in the horticultural crops. Farmers of Jajapur and Kendrapada districts of Odisha attended the programme. Dr. G.C. Acharya, Head, CHES, Bhubaneswar highlighted the importance of the awareness programme on AMC. Dr G Selvakumar, Principal Scientist and Developer of the AMC technology gave a detailed description of the technology to the farmers. He highlighted the method of application, dosage of application to different horticultural crops and the benefit on applying AMC. During the event, AMC was distributed to the farmers by the guest. He has also informed about the installation of AMC unit at Bhubaneswar campus and production of AMC in Odisha. Dr G Sangeetha, Principal Scientist also highlighted the usefulness of AMC in farmer’s fields and discussed on various diseases of horticultural crops & their control measures. Dr A V V Koundinya, Scientist also participated in the discussion, The programme was organized under the ongoing external project funded by MIDH, Govt of Odisha. The programme was coordinated by Dr. G. C. Acharya & Dr G Selvakumar with help of Sri Manoj Kumar Pattanaik, Sri Anil Adamala. Miss Lisalin and Sri Ashish Chakrabarty.
