Research Accomplishments: 

As per the Institute mandate, I has been actively involved in research, extension and institute building activities since last ten years of my service. I had associated with four institute research projects and successful executed, entitled Project 1: Studies on the host plant resistance and Bio-ecology of key nematode pests of pulse along with their eco-friendly management  (Project Code: CRSC IIPR SIL 2013-00700086), Project 2: Characterization and enhancement of shelf life of Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) for management of Helicoverpa armigera in Chickpea (Project Code: CRSCIIPRSIL 201600600130), Project 3: Characterization of pests and pathogens and host plant resistance in pulses (Project code: CRSCIIPRSIL 201700800147) and Project 4: Bio-intensive management of major pest and pathogens of pulse crops (Co-PI from 2017-2019; Project code: CRSCIIPRSIL 201700800148). I published 14 research articles, 3 training manuals, 4 book chapter, 11 popular articles, 5 e-publication and 8 research technology has been developed. I had attended and given lectures for several trainings, seminars, workshops and national and international conferences for enhancement of research knowledge. I had recognised with several awards and medals for the contribution of research . Holds membership in various prestigious scientific societies like, Indian Society of Pulses Research and Development (ISPRD), ICAR-IIPR, Kanpur, Society of Plant Protection Sciences (SPPS), ICAR-NCIPM New Delhi, Society for Bio-control Advancement, ICAR-NBAIR, Bengaluru.

  1. Developed Methodology for In vitro Culturing of Lesion Nematodes (Pratylenchus thornei) on Carrot Discs (Co-PI Project Code: CRSC IIPR SIL 2013-00700086 )
  2. Developed Management technology of Heterodera cajani with suitable cropping sequences (Co-PI Project Code: CRSC IIPR SIL 2013-00700086)
  3. Identified resistance genotypes of Chickpea, Fieldpea, Mungbean Urdbean, Wild relative vigna and lentil crops against M. javanica. (Co-PI, Project Code: CRSC IIPR SIL 2013-00700086)
  4. Developed of bio-fumigation technology for suppression of root knot nematode (M. javanica) (Co-PI Project Code: CRSC IIPR SIL 2013-00700086 )
  5. Identified parasitic potential of Steinernema siamkayai against soil-dwelling stage of Helicoverpa armigera (PI, Project Code: CRSCIIPRSIL 201600600130
  6. Developed Eco-friendly management of Meloidogyne javanica in chickpea (Cicerarietinum L.) using organic amendments and biocontrol agent. (Co-PI, Project Code: CRSC IIPR SIL 2013-00700086)

Dr. Devindrappa, has been awarded ISPRD fellow award-2023 of the Indian Society of Pulses Research and Development, Kanpur on February 10th  2023 at NASC complex, New Delhi  during International conferences on Pulses: Smart crops for agricultural sustainability and nutritional security” from 10 to 12 February 2023 at NASC New Delhi
  2. Dr. Devindrappa, has been awarded SPPS young scientist associate award-2022 of the Society of Plant Protection Sciences, New Delhi on May 21, 2022 at ICAR-National Research center for Integrated Pest   Management, New Delhi-110012 during National e-conference on Biotic stress management strategies for achieving sustainable crop production and climate resilience for his significant contribution in the filed nematology.
  3. Dr. Devindrappa, has been awarded "Best Oral Presentation" for his oral presentation on “Effect of rhizobacteria on nematode suppression and soil microbes as compared to nematicide” by Devindrappa and AnjuKamra in Technical Session 2B "Biotic stress management in crops through eco-friendly approaches" in the National e- Conference held at ICAR-National Research Centre of Integrated Pest Management, New Delhi, India on May 21, 2022.
  4. Dr. Devindrappa, has been awarded certificate of merit for research and presentation for research entitled “Evaluation of  rhizobacterial isolates antagonism to Meloidogyne incognita infecting tomato” for a lucid presentation at the contribution to the success of 8th International conferences on  dry zone agriculture-2022, held at University of Jaffan, Sri Lank, 14th September, 2022
  5. Dr. Devindrappa, has been awarded best Paper Presentation award in national symposium on climate smart agriculture for nematode management, January 11-13, 2017. ICAR- Central coastal agriculture research institute, Goa. Paper entitled Survival of pigeonpea cyst nematode in moist and dry soil by Devindrappa and Bans Singh
  6. Dr. Devindrappa, has been awarded best paper presentation award in national symposium on modern trends in systematics and bio-prospecting of fungi, Dec 16, 2020. Paper entitled “Nematicidal potential of fungal root endophytes against Meloidogyne incognita” by Devindrappa, AnjuKamra and DeebaKamil.
