ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru celebrated Hindi Fortnight during 14-29 September, 2023. The valedictory function of Hindi Fortnight organized on 3rd October, 2023. Shri. Himanshu Pandey, Manager, Indian Space Science Data Centre, Bengaluru was the Chief Guest for the function. Prof. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR- IIHR, Bengaluru presided over the function. On this occasion, the Chief Guest delivered a talk on “success of Chandrayan-3”. He elaborated the success of Chandrayan-3 in simple Hindi, which was appreciated by the audience.
Prof. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru emphasized that it is our duty to respect the Official Language Hindi. He said that the institute organizes various activities for the effective implementation of Official Language every year. He requested the staff members to use Hindi in official work and contribute towards dissemination of Hindi. He requested the scientists to write books in Hindi.
Shri Sachin Agnihotri, CAO stressed that the officials should use Hindi as much as possible in official work. He urged everyone to work in Hindi throughout the year and not only during the Hindi Fortnight. He further said that it is our duty to make Hindi the official language and this can also be done by adopting popular words and phrases from regional languages also.
As part of Hindi Fortnight celebration, the competitions such Hindi Essay, Hindi Noting & Terminology’, Hindi Recitation, Extempore, Hindi Song, Presentation in Hindi and Hindi Typing on Computer’ were conducted. In the valedictory function, the Chief Guest distributed the prizes and certificates to the winners of different competitions and Hindi Incentive Scheme.
Dr. Anil Kumar Nair, Principal Scientist and Chairman, Hindi Fortnight Celebration welcomed and introduced the guest to the audience. Dr. Ravi Bhushan Tiwari, Principal Scientist proposed the vote of thanks. Shri A.K. Jagadeesan, Deputy Director (OL) anchored the programme and gave detailed information on different activities conducted during Hindi Fortnight.
