ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru inaugurated the Hindi Week-2020 with the celebration of HINDI DIWAS on 14.09.2020 at its main campus. Shri Ashok Kumar Billure, Ex-Joint Director (OL), ISRO was the chief guest.
Dr.Anil Kumar Nair, Principal Scientist, welcomed the Chief Guest, Director, ICAR-IIHR, Chief Administrative Officer and all other participants who joined on-line for the inaugural programme. He also gave a brief introduction on Rajbhasha Hindi and its use in day to day office work. He detailed the activities to be conducted during the Hindi week.
Shri G.G. Harakangi, CAO in his address remarked that Hindi is the Official Language of the Central Government and it is our responsibility to use the language in our scientific and administrative work for its propagation and popularization as per our Constitution and Official Language Act and Rules. He also made a mention of “Baagwani” the home magazine of ICAR-IIHR.
Shri A.K.Billure, the Chief Guest spoke about how Hindi was recognized as the Rajbhasha and opined that the regional languages and Hindi have to go hand in hand in our country. He also mentioned that efforts are on to recognize Hindi as Vishwa Bhasha.
Dr. M.R.Dinesh, Director, ICAR-IIHR presided over the function and remarked that Hindi is a simple language and can be used in day to day communication. The institute has been encouraging its staff to use Hindi in official work.
Dr. Ravi Bhushan Tiwari, Principal Scientist and Chairman, Hindi Week Celebration Committee proposed vote of thanks.
