One hundred and forty scientists have participated in this national training representing all the subject matter divisions of ICAR viz., Crop Sciences, Horticulture Sciences, Animal Sciences, Fisheries Sciences, Agricultural Education Division (SAUs) representing more than 40 institutes. First day inaugural programme started at 10 am on 18/1/2021. Dr. T.N. Shivananda, Nodal Officer, HRD Cell welcomed the participants, resource persons and Dr. M.R. Dinesh, Director inaugurated the training programme and narrated importance of trainings in careers of scientists irrespective of the subject.
- Age wise participants: Around 36 per cent participants are from 30-40 years age group. 24 per cent each in the age groups of 40-50 and 50-60 years, 13 per cent between 20-30 years and 6 % more than 60 years.
- Category wise, Scientists (51 %) followed by Principal Scientists (39 %) and Senior Scientist (9%) participated in the training programme. Among the trainees, ICAR institutes represented 92 % and SAUs 8 %.
- Topics covered included how to convert research output to a successful technology, how to make good publication of research outputs, How to enhance the research skills, Statistical designs and analysis for different experiments, SOPs for entering into AICRP trials, ISO certification, Commercialization of technology and entrepreneurship and mentoring the entrepreneur, expectations of a farmer/KVK in terms of technology adoption by stakeholders etc. Effective Interaction was planned through chat box and direct mode also.
- Institutes from almost all the ICAR Divisions have represented the training with different disciplines including Horticulture, Genetics and Breeding, Economic Botany, Aquaculture, Dairy, Meteorology, Agronomy, PHT, Home Science, Agronomy, Plant Physiology, plant protection, extension etc. Online Feedback forms are being received from different participants for the issue of e-certificates.
- During the valedictory session on 20th January 2021, which was chaired by Dr. M. R. Dinesh, Director, ICAR-IIHR expressed happiness over the contents of the training and positive feedback got from various participants and appreciated them for their interest in updating their knowledge.
- The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. V. Sridhar. Dr. T.N. Shivananda and Dr. V. Sridhar from HRD unit of ICAR-IIHR are the organizers of the training.
