The ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) Bangalore, participated in the Exhibition and Farmer Scientist interface, which was organized by KVK-Lakshadweep, ICAR-CMFRI, from 20 to 22 November, 2024 at Kavaratti, Lakshadweep Islands. The coconut festival was inaugurated on 20.11.24. In different sessions on 21.11.24, Dr Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR-IIHR emphasized on the use of various farmers friendly ICAR-IIHR technologies for doubling the income. It was followed by lecture on suitable fruit varieties for Lakshadweep Islands and the importance of canopy management in fruit crops by Dr R Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist. Dr V Sankar, Principal Scientist briefed about vegetable cultivation and promotion of IIHR vegetable varieties in Lakshadweep Islands. The ICAR-IIHR participated in the exhibition to showcase various ICAR-IIHR technologies to the farming community. The ICAR-IIHR received BEST STALL award during the event.
