ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research participated in the Krishimela organized by University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru during 11-14 November, 2021. In this event, ICAR-IIHR showcased its farmer friendly technologies through live specimens, products, sale of inputs etc., in the exhibition. More than 3 lakh farmers and other stakeholders visited ICAR-IIHR stall during the period.
The farmers who visited the ICAR-IIHR stall interacted with the scientists and technicians and learnt about latest horticultural technologies. A total of 30 scientists and 12 technicians of ICAR-IIHR participated in the exhibition during 4-day mega event. The live specimens and materials of ICAR-IIHR including that of regional stations viz., CHES Chettalli drawn attraction from the visitors. Provision was made for the sale of vegetable seeds, ATIC products, ready to fruit bags of mushroom, incubatee products of BESST-HORT.
Suhree Shobha Karandlajee ji, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, visited the stall and appreciated the good work done.
In the event, ICAR-IIHR once again bagged the Best Stall Award. This is the 6th consecutive best stall award for IIHR in the UAS (B) Krishimela events. The programme was coordinated by Mr Atheequlla GA, Scientist, Division of Social Sciences and Training.
