The Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) was celebrated on 26th November at ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru, on the eve of commemoration of the 70th year of adoption of our constitution. Dr. D. Sreenivasamurthy, Principal Scientist, welcomed the gatherings and gave the brief introduction about importance associated with Constitution Day and its year-long celebration at our Institute starting from Constitution Day celebrations on 26th November, 2019 to culminating with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanthi on 14th April, 2019. Shri. G.G. Harakangi, Chief Administrative Officer, read out the 'Preamble of the Constitution' as part of the function. Mr. Praveenkumar Hiremath, Advocate, Chief Guest of the function delivered a talk on “Constitution and Fundamental Duties". In his lecture, he elaborated on the history of Indian Constitution, its acts, laws, articles, sections, rules, fundamental rights and duties envisaged in our constitution. He also clarified the queries and doubts raised by the staff members. Later on, Dr. M.R. Dinesh, Director spoke about the fundamental duties and self-discipline for being a good citizens of India. More than two hundred staff members of ICAR - IIHR attended the program. The program came an end with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sankaran, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru.
