Central Horticultural Experiment Station (ICAR-IIHR), Bhubaneswar participated in Farmers’ Fair-cum-Exhibition organized by Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar in their premises on 7th March 2020. Technologies of CHES, Bhubaneswar and ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru were displayed during the exhibition. Varieties of tomato, brinjal, chilli, ivy gourd, pointed gourd, aonla, sapota and available diversity in chilli, brinjal and amaranthus were displayed. The detailed posters with descriptions of fruit and vegetable varieties suitable for this coastal region and protection technologies were also displayed for the benefit of the visiting farmers. The stall was visited by Shri Arun Kumar Sahoo, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Govt of Odisha; Dr. Pawan Kumar Agarwa, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of OUAT and other distinguished dignitaries, students of OUAT and farmers from across the state of Odisha. Farmers interacted with the scientists and technical assistants and showed great interest in getting the planting materials of fruits and vegetables available at CHES.
