Micropropagation for chrysanthemum
|
||
Application / Use: | Rapid multiplication of elite chrysanthemum cultivars with a very high multiplication potential
Input Needed: | Requirements include general tissue culture facility and that for hardening / acclimatization.
Output Capacity: | Over 1 million plants per year
Specific Benefits: | Commercial entrepreneurship for higher income
Unit Cost: | Production cost = Rs. 2-4 per plant (approx.) if facilities for tissue culture production exists already; Not yet commercialized; Needs scaling up
Description: | This is a tissue-culture based method. Facilitates rapid multiplication of chrysanthemum and is particularly suitable for shy suckering elite clones and or the rapid stock bulking of new cultivars and introductions.
