ICAR-IIHR and ICAR KVK, CENDECT, Theni district Tamilnadu organised One day Capacity Building programme on Scientific Poultry rearing techniques and IIHR technologies for sustainable income generation under SCSP Scheme, organized at Ambedkar colony, Sukkankalpatti, Chinnamannur, Theni TN on 27/12/22. The main aim of programme is to disseminate IIHR technologies to the SC farmers of Theni district. Dr. Maheswaran Programme Coordinator, KVK CENDECT, welcomed the gathering. Mr.Azhagumuthu Panchayat President, Kamatchipuram gave special address. Dr. R. Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIHR, explained different technologies available in fruit crops at ICAR-IIHR which can be adopted by them in their district. Dr. V. Shankar, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIHR, explained the different varieties and technologies of vegetable crops suitable for Theni Region. Dr. Senthilkumar Associate Professor and Head, FTC, TANUVAS, Theni explained in detail about the poultry rearing techniques. Dr. S. Bhuvaneswari, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIHR demonstrated usage of Arka high humidity storage boxes for shelf life extension of green leafy vegetables, usage of low cost ripening chamber for ripening of banana and usage of mango harvesters. The inputs like Arka high humidity storage boxes, Low cost ripening chambers, Mango Harvesters, Vegetable seeds were distributed to SC women. Around 30 SC women participated and benefitted from the programme. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. Ramya Siva selvi SMS KVK CENDECT, Theni.
