In Central Horticultural Experiment Station (CHES), Chettalli, a regional station of ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR); the15thParthenium Awareness Week Programme was observed during 17-21 August, 2020. During this period, awareness of impact of Parthenium to Environment, Agricultural Production and Human Health to all the staff of the station was carried out through meeting, discussions, etc. In the meeting and discussions, The Head (i/c) of the CHES, Chettalli Dr. ShivaramaBhat had explained the importance of observing Parthenium Awareness Week throughout the country, the health hazards of Parthenium, and management practices to be adopted to overcome the Parthenium menace. He also suggested all the staff to clean and remove the Parthenium weeds near their residences and also to create awareness among the public near their residences on Parthenium problems. Further uprooting and removal of Parthenium weeds in the campus area such as near water storage tank, canteen and around the farm was carried out during this period.
