A special training program on ICAR-IIHR Horticultural technologies suitable for the farmers of Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu were conducted at Coconut Research Station (CRS), TNAU, Aliyar, Pollachi taluk of Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu. This program was started with ICAR song. Dr.S.Praneetha, Professor and Head, CRS, Aliyar welcomed the gathering and explained about the importance of this training program. Dr. V. Sankar, Principal Scientist, Division of Social sciences and Training delivered lecture on important vegetable varieties, hybrids and technologies developed by ICAR-IIHR suitable for Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. Followed by Dr. R.Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist, Division of Social sciences and Training delivered lecture on important fruit varieties released by ICAR-IIHR suitable for Coimbatore region and also suitable for coconut intercrops. At the end, the farmers nteracted with scientists and cleared all the doubts. Dr.Sivakumar, Assistant professor, CRS,Aliyar proposed vote of thanks to the gathering and arranged field visit. After field visit, IIHR vegetable seed kits were distributed to all the participants. This program was attended by more than 40 farmers of Coimbatore district and10 staff members of Coconut Research Station CRS, TNAU, Aliyar, Coimbatore.
