1.Protected cultivation in vegetables and flowers for the officers of Tamil Nadu :A special three-day (03-05th Feb 2020) training programme on "Protected cultivation of vegetables and flowers cultivation" was organized for the Tamil Nadu Horticulture officers sponsored by SAMETI, Tamil Nadu, wherein 20 officials representing 20 districts of Tamil Nadu participated. The objective of the programme was to improve the knowledge level on protected cultivation of flowers and vegetables. On day-1, basics of protected cultivation and flowers crops were covered, on Day-2 protected cultivation of vegetables, integrated pest, diseases and nutrient management aspects were covered and on the last day the trainees participated in the National Horticulture Fair 2020.
2.Entrepreneurship development programme on Protected cultivation in vegetables and flowers: A special six-day (04-09th Feb 2020) training was organized for 15 participants representing Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu on Protected cultivations of vegetable and flower crops. The objective of the programme was to give practical exposure on protected cultivation of vegetables and flower crops. Participants were given basic knowledge on protected cultivation structures, cultivation of flower crops and vegetable crops in protected cultivation, integrated nutrient, pest, disease and nematode management in protected cultivation and banking procedures. Arranged one-to-one discussion with NHB officials regarding scheme and IP creation at Yeswantpur NHB office. One day exposure visit was arranged for the participants to get hands-on training at Hosur with successful protected cultivation growers of flowers and vegetables. During the training period all the participants participated in the National Horticulture Fair 2020.
3.Training-cum-exposure visit sponsored by DASD, Calicut : A special four-day (5-8th Feb 2020) training-cum-exposure visit on ICAR-IIHR technologies for spice crops was organized for 200 participants sponsored by Directorate of Arecanut and Spice Development, Calicut. The participants represented Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Orissa, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka and West Bengal at ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru. On Day-1, farmers were given lecture on Arka Coorg Excel pepper cultivation and impact of AMC on Arka Coorg Excl. On Day-2, overview of Betelvine cultivation and Integrated nutrient, pest and disease management training were imparted. On day-3, awareness towards High pungent chilles and its potential for export were highlighted. On day-4, health benefits of Garcinia and the products developed using garcinia were exposed to participants. In all the four days, participants visited National Horticulture Fair 2020 in the afternoon sessions.
4.Post-Harvest Management in Horticultural crops for the officers of Tamil Nadu :A special three-day (07-09th Feb 2020) training programme on Post-harvest technology of Horticulture crops was organized for 20 officials sponsored by SAMETI, Tamil Nadu representing 20 districts of Tamil Nadu. The objective of the programme was to expose the participants on latest post-harvest technologies in Horticultural crops developed at ICAR-IIHR. On day-1, principles of processing and post harvest technologies developed in IIHR were covered; On Day-2 Packaging, preparation of osmatically dehydrated products were covered apart from visit to National Horticulture Fair 2020. In the last day, participants were taken to packaging industry located in Peenya industrial area.
5.Inter-state exposure-cum-training to Nilgiris District farmers of Tamil Nadu: Inter-state exposure-cum-training was organized for the farmers of Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu from 06-08,Feberuary. A total of 100 farmers along with 5 officials from Department of Horticulture, Ooty participated and visited National Horticulture Fair 2020. During visit they got acquainted with protected cultivation of vegetables and flowers, exotic vegetable cultivation and nematode management in various horticultural crops.
6.Inter-state exposure-cum training to Pondicherry farmers : Inter-state exposure-cum training from 06-08 February for National Horticulture Fair 2020 was arranged for the farmers of Pondicherry state. Around 35 farmers from different taluks of Pondicherry state participated and visited National Horticulture Fair. Lectures were arranged on IIHR released vegetable/fruits/flowers varieties/hybrids and their cultivation methods, bio pesticides usage and nematode management in various horticultural crops.
7.Inter-State exposure visit for Vellore District farmers of TN : Inter-state exposure -cum visit 2020 was organized for farmers of Vellore district of Tamil Nadu from 05-08, February. A total of 25 farmers along with 2 officials from Department of Horticulture, Gudiyattam taluk of Vellore district of Tamil Nadu participated in the National Horticulture Fair 2020.
8.Exposure visit to NHF from four Zones of Tamil Nadu under MIDH-NHM : Exposure visit was organized for farmers of four Zones of Tamil Nadu from 05-08, February to National Horticulture Fair 2020. A total of 115 farmers along with 5 officials from Department of Horticulture, Government of Tamil Nadu attended the exposure visit from 19 districts of Tamil Nadu.
9.Inter-state exposure visit from Valsad district farmers of Gujarat :A special 3-day (5-7th Feb 2020) training-cum exposure visit on ICAR-IIHR technologies sponsored by ATMA, Valsod, Gujarat was arranged for 20 participants. On Day-1, farmers were given lecture on ICAR-IIHR fruit-crop technologies; On day-2, overview of vegetable crop technologies and integrated nutrient, pest and disease management training were imparted. On day-3, farmers visited KVK, Hirahalli. On both the days, in the afternoon sessions, the participants visited National Horticulture Fair 2020.
10.Inter-state exposure visit from Odisha: A special training-cum exposure visit for 30 farmers of Aspirational district, Nabarangpur, Odisha was organized at ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru on 6th February,2020. In the morning session, farmers were given lecture on ICAR-IIHR fruit-crop technologies and in the afternoon session, participants visited National Horticulture Fair 2020. Another group of farmers from Gajapati district of Odisha also participated in the National Horticulture Fair 2020.
11.Inter-state training-cum visit from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh : A special 3-day (5-7th Feb 2020) training-cum exposure visit on ICAR-IIHR technologies for 50 farmers of ATMA, Tadipatri, Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh was organized at ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru. On Day-1, farmers were given lecture on ICAR-IIHR technologies. On Day-2, overview of vegetable crop technologies and integrated nutrient, pest and disease management technologies were imparted. On day-3, farmers visited Centre of Excellence at Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh. Both the first two days, in the afternoon session, the participants visited National Horticulture Fair 2020.
12.Inter-state exposure visit from Udupi, Chikaballapur, Dharwad and Bidar districts of Karnataka: One-day exposure visit to National Horticulture Fair 2020 was organized for the farmers of Udupi, Chikkaballapur, Dharwad and Bidar districts of Karnataka from 5-7 February,2020. Around 70 farmers were participated in the visit.
13. Inter-state exposure visit of farmers of Ghajiabad district of Haryana : A special 2-day (5-6th Feb 2020) exposure visit on ICAR-IIHR technologies for the farmers of Hisar district of Haryana was organized and these 30 farmers visited National Horticulture Fair 2020.
Overall, 810 participants (Officers, students, farmers and entrepreneurs) from 8 states (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Pondicherry. Odisha, Gujarat, West Bengal and Haryana) participated in the training and exposure visit to National Horticulture Fair 2020 from 3-9 Feberuay,2020 at ICAR-IIHR, Bangalore.
