Research Accomplishments: 

(During the Period of 2019-2023)

  1. Standardized the package of practice for the management of pomegranate wilt caused by Ceratocystis fimbriata
  2. Reported for the first time the occurrence of both mating types (MAT1 and 2) in Ceratocystis fimbriata infecting pomegranate in India
  3. Developed the fungicide schedule for the rose black spot and powdery mildew, chrysanthemum rust.
  4. Contributed in the development of disease resistant varieties/hybrids in Tomato, Marigold, Rose, Beans, Aster (7- released by CVRC; others identified at Institute Level).
  5. Endophyes (Ochrobactrum and Chitophaga) identified for pomegranate for wilt control
  6. Yeast and bacterial isolates that produce volatile organic compounds for postharvest management of fruit rot of grapes
Varieties / Technologies Developed: 

Muktakeshi – taro blight resistant variety  of Colocasia: Muktakeshi – Colocasia variety resistant to Phytophthora colocasiae was developed. It has gained popularity in most of the states and recommended by State Governments (Orissa, Chattisgargh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan) as well as notified by Central Sub Committee on seed standards, Variety notified vide Gazette no. by Govt of India

Carbendazim tolerant Trichoderma harzianum formulation

Trichoderma harzianum (GJ16B) tolerant to carbendazim at 500 ppm and having biocontrol potential was developed and Commercialized. Role of mutation in β tubulin established. Toxicological data available for registration. Commercialized to M/s. Allwin Industries, Pithampur and M/s. Ponalab, Bangalore (@ Rs. 75000/- for each firm).
