ICAR-IIHR-Central Horticultutal Experiment Station (CHES), Bhubaneswar organised various activities during Swachhata hi Seva campaign-2024 from 15th September to 1stOctober 2024. Dr.G. . Acharya, Head of the station, administrated and guided in datewise schedule activities and programme at different places. CHES Team of Swachha Bharat carried out cleanliness drive at various places of the campus. An awareness rally was organised in Subhas Nagar basti area including door-to-door campaign. As a part of the campaign, a drawing competition along with awareness programme, cleanliness drive and plantation programme were also organised at Saraswati Shishu Bidya Mandir,Sijua nera AIIMS, BBSR where students and teachers participated in the activities.
As part of the schedule under “Access to Health facilities and services to the Safai Mitras/sanitation workers to ensure better quality of life, team of the swachha bharat along with Safai Mitras/Sanitration workers went to urban community health center for a health check up. PPE kits,safety gears to safeguard the sanitation workers from occupational hazards are also distributed. Safai mitra samman programme and story telling session was also arranged in the trainning hall and they expressed their experiences and importance of their works in maintaining cleanliness.
An awareness programm, cleanliness drive and plantation programme was organised at Madarshas Edgah, Jadupur. Dr.G.C. Acharya, Head of the station, Coporator-BMC (Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation ) Mrs Sakiba Musharat, Ex-corporator-Muzahid Hussain,village committee president Syed Zakabur Rahaman and Madarshah Edgah secretary -Syed Nisar Ali addressed the awarness programme/campaign. Cleanliness drive was also undertakenat Sarakantara temple.
On 2nd October 2024 CHES-ICAR-IIHR, Bhubaneswaris celebrated the Swachha Bharat Diwas to honour of the birth of Sri Mahatma Gandhi. Dr.G.C. Acharya, Head of the station welcome the guests,teachers and students of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Safai Mitras from BMC and staff of CHES,Bhubaneswar.Details of various activities during the Swachhata Hi seva campaign-2024 was elaborated by Sri Singhray Majhi, STO and I/c Swachha Bharat. Dr. P.Srinivas & others shared their experiences and thoughts. Social workers like Sir Som and Sri Vikram Kesari Mohapatra addressed to the gathering on the occasion. Prize distribution for various catergories were also awarded by the guests.
