A. Development & Release of varieties : Eight varieties - Four Amaranth Varieties, Arka Suguna and Arka Arunima (High yielding, cutting type), - Arka Samraksha and Arka Varna (Antioxidant rich and low in nitrates and oxalates, pulling type), one Palak Variety, Arka Anupama (high yielding, multicut), one coriander vareity, Arka Isha (high yielding, multicut) and two cauliflower varieties, Arka Vimal and Arka Spoorthi (high yielding & good seed set under tropical conditions) B. Development of superior breeding lines: Basella IIHR-1 & 22, Drumstick lines- IIHR-39-7 and IIHR-42-4, and cauliflower male sterile lines for F1 hybrid seed production. C. Identification of disease resistant lines: Resistant lines against alternaria brown rot, black rot and downy mildew in cauliflower, White rust resistant lines in Amaranth, Downy mildew resistant lines in ridge gourd, D. Externally aided projects: Handled two ICAR Cess Fund projects as Principal Investigator i.e., “Breeding for resistance to downy mildew and alternaria leaf spot in early cauliflower” and “Improvement of Under utilized vegetable crops” from 2004-2008. Currently handling two PPV&FRA DUS Projects on "Bitter gourd, Ridge gourd, Bottle gourd, Amaranth and Palak” as PI.
