In hand pollination, Ascorbic acid 50 ppm and 75 ppm improved the crossing efficiency in terms of hybrid seed recovered per hour of crossing to 7.17g/hour of crossing and 6.86 g/hour of crossing from 2.83g/hour of crossing in untreated control under open field conditions.
In natural cross pollination, foliar sprays of Ascorbic acid 75 ppm and 50 ppm on both the CGMS and restorer lines twice once, at the onset of flowering and 10 days later resulted
in highest hybrid seed yield of 66kg/ha and 60 kg/ha
