ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru participated in the FARMFEST organized by Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Puducherry, Puducherry UT from 10-12th Febrauary,2023. This event was inaugurated by the Lieutenanat Governor of Puducherry Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Puducherry UT along with Mr. R. Rangaswami, Chief minister, Government of Puducherry, Puducherry. During this event, ICAR-IIHR showcased its farmer friendly technologies through live specimens, products, sale of inputs etc., through the exhibition for the benefit of the visitors. More than 1 lakh farmers and other stakeholders visited ICAR-IIHR stall during the period. The farmers who visited the ICAR-IIHR stall interacted with the scientists and technician and learnt about latest horticultural technologies. The live specimens and materials of ICAR-IIHR including that of regional stations drawn attraction from the visitors. Provision was made for the sale of vegetable seeds, ATIC products and incubate products of BESST-HORT. The stall put up by ICAR-IIHR served as a link between farmers and the farming industry and provided visitors update on latest horticulture technologies. The programme was coordinated by Dr V. Sankar, Dr R. Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientists of Division of Social Sciences and Training, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru and Mr Deenadayaal, Technical officer from Crop Protection Division, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru. More than 1 lakh visitors including several delegates, bureaucrats, policy makers, progressive farmers, entrepreneurs, and students visited the stall and expressed great interest and appreciation towards the ICAR-IIHR technologies.
