ICAR-IIHR participated in Vanijya Utsav Exporters Conclave Cum Exhibition -2021 on 22nd September 22, 2021 at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru. ICAR-IIHR participated in the exhibition and displayed advanced technologies of ICAR-IIHR. Technologies pertaining to fruits, vegetables, ornamental crops, integrated crop management of horticulture crops, post-harvest technologies and technologies ATIC were displayed through posters, live specimens and literature etc. for the benefit of the visitors. The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Shobha Karandlaje, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. In her inaugural address she expressed that Indian in surplus in agriculture and horticulture production through the concerted efforts of efforts of farmers and government institutes and urged the stakeholders to produce export-oriented quality produce and explore producing non-conventional products for increasing exports. The dignitaries expressed that there is enormous potential for export of Rose Onion, Gherkins and Spices and gaps in schemes of agriculture and horticulture exports need to be rectified. ICAR-IIHR stall attracted more than 200 visitors including Minister, bureaucrats, officials, farmers and FPO staff. This programme was coordinated by Dr. R.B.Tiwary, Dr.R.Senthil Kumar, Dr.T.M.Reddy, and Mr.V.Shashi Kumar. Mr.H.J.Venkatesh assisted in organizing the exhibition from Division of Social Sciences and Training, ICAR-IIHR.
