ICAR-IIHR participated in the Krishimela organized by University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru during 11th to 13th November, 2020. This year the mela was restricted to selected stakeholders only as it was a physical and digital mela due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was an opportunity for ICAR-IIHR to showcase its farmer-friendly technologies through live specimens, products, sale of inputs etc., in the exhibition. About 8,000 farmers and other stakeholders visited our stalls during the krishimela.
Apart from the exhibition stall, ICAR-IIHR also contributed in laying out the live demonstrations of our vegetable and flower crop varieties in the GKVK fields, which attracted more number of participants.
Dr. R Venkattakumar, PS & Head I/c and Dr. B Narayanaswamy Principal Scientist, Division of Social Sciences and Training Co-ordinated the Exhibition of IIHR technologies in the mela.
The farmers who visited the ICAR-IIHR stall interacted with the scientists and technicians who were there on duty in all the three days. The live specimens and materials from all the divisions, sub stations viz., CHES Chettalli, KVK Hirehalli and Horticulture farm of Hirehalli drawn attraction from the visitors.
