The program was in commemoration of “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav”, 75th year of India’s Independence, where the 3rd Dec is supposed to be the Agriculture Education Day in India. It was to: Reaching out to School Children –on educating them on the theme. Accordingly, one day program has been arranged in the Govt. High School, Hesaraghatta on 03.12.2021 by involving all the staff members. From our Institute Dr. B Narayanaswamy, PS & Coordinator of the program, Dr. R Venkattakumar, Head, Div. of Social Sciences & Trng., Dr. K N Poornima, Scientist, Div. of Basic Sciences, Mr.K.Chandrashekaraiah, Technical Officer, Smt. Harshitha, H, Mr. Venkatesh and Mr. Manjunath were attended. Smt. Sudhamani, Head Mistress of the school and all teaching staff and about 76 students were attended.
In the beginning Dr. K N Poornima, welcomed and Dr. R Venkattakumar highlighted the ICAR-IIHR activities and opportunities to the students in the field of agriculture development. Dr. B Narayanaswamy handled the class on the topic: Agriculture Education Day, activities of ICAR, different fields agriculture sectors and opportunities for currier development and entrepreneurship. He also mentioned on the development of Indian Agriculture, ICAR, Graduations, importance given to agriculture curriculum by highlighting the contributions of Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad. The program was well managed by keeping in view of COIVD-19 formalities. The distribution of Sanitizers and useful stationeries to the participants.
The program was concluded with the vote of thanks from Mr. Jayaram, Master.
