A special 15 days (9th-23rd Dec.2021) Training programme on ICAR-IIHR Fruit crop technologies was inaugurated by Director, ICAR-IIHR Bengalore. The objective of the programme was to facilitate extension professionals as Certified Farm Advisors through capacity building on ICAR-IIHR technologies pertaining to fruits. A total of 30 officials/entrepreneurs representing 8 different states (Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu and Bihar) are participating in this programme. The inaugural session was started with welcome address by Dr.R.Venkattakumar, Principal Scientist and Head i/c, Division of Social Sciences and Training, followed by briefing about the 15 days course details (25 lectures comprises of theory and practical in tropical, sub-tropical and humid fruit crops) by Dr.R.Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist, Division of Social Sciences and Training. Dr.N.Balasubramani, Director & PC (CCA), MANAGE, Hyderabad urged the participants to utilize the platform of ICAR-IIHR to become certified farm advisors. In his Presidential address, Dr.B.N.S.Murthy, Director, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru, suggested the participants how they can learn and have sustained contact in order to serve the farming community during their 15 days stay at IIHR. This programme came to an end with vote of thanks proposed by Dr.V.Sankar, Principal Scientist and Course Director. This programme was attended by all the Scientists and Resources persons of Fruit crops and Division of Social sciences and Training. This programme is being coordinated by Dr R Senthil Kimar, Dr R Venkattakumar and Dr V Sankar.
