ICAR-IIHR organized 4 training programmes at Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Mizoram.
First programme on capacity building was conducted at Aizwal, Mizoram on 19th August, 2022, wherein more than 20 officials were participated. The programme started with introductory remarks and welcome address by Pu. T. Vanlaltlana, Joint Director of Horticulture, followed by talk on ICAR-IIHR fruit crops technologies suitable for Mizoram by Dr. R. Senthil Kumar and Dr. V. Sankar, Principal Scientists, Division of Social Sciences and Training, spoke on important vegetable varieties developed by ICAR-IIHR and by Dr. D. Kalaivanan, Senior Scientist, Division of Natural Resource Management, served as resource person and delivered a lecture on NEH sub plan project of ICAR-IIHR and soil health management aspects. The programme came to an end with vote of thanks proposed by Pu. James Vanlalluaia, Additional Director of Agriculture, Aizwal, Mizoram.
Second programme was conducted at KVK, Aizwal, Mizoram on 20.8.2022, wherein more than 80 farmers attended the training. Inputs were distributed at the end all the farmers collected the ICAR-IIHR released varieties.
Third programme was organized at Tenzingaon, West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh and capacity building-cum-interaction programme was organized and also distributed vegetable seeds and visited farmers’ field.
Fourth programme was organized on capacity building-cum-interaction programme was organized with farmers and scientists of KVK, Udalpur and KVK, Darrang of Assam on 22nd August 2022, where in more than 30 farmers and officials participated.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. R. Senthil Kumar, Dr. V. Sankar, Principal Scientists, Division of Social Sciences and Training and Dr. D. Kalaivanan, Senior Scientist, Division of Natural Resource Management.
