ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru organized a Capacity building program and input distribution was done for the farmers of Bhor, Velle and Purandar Taluk’s of Pune district in Maharashtra on 29th September 2023. The purpose of the program is to create awareness about recent ICAR-IIHR technologies and also input distribution to the identified tribal beneficiaries under TSP project. Dr Sankar, V. Principal Scientist and Nodal officer, Division of Social Sciences and Training, ICAR-IIHR and Dr. Anupa T, Scientist, Division of Fruit crops, ICAR- IIHR, Bengaluru, Karnataka participated in the program as resource persons. The resource persons explained about various ICAR-IIHR technologies in horticultural crops and kitchen garden and interacted with farmers. The program was attended by 202 farmers located at Bhor, Velle and Purandar villages along with officers from various developmental agencies including Department of Agriculture, Pune District. At the end of program, inputs like vegetable seeds of Amaranthus, Palak, Yard Long been, Radish, Dolichos beans, vegetable special, AMC, Pongamia soap and neem soap were distributed to tribal beneficiaries of Pune District. ’The whole programme was coordinated by Dr V Sankar, Dr.Anupa T along with Mr. Dattatrayaya Vegre, Progressive farmer and his daughter Ms. Harshada Vegre.
